Healing by Faith Part III

4/17/2010 9:00 AM

We continue our teaching on "Healing by Faith." Healing is part of our salvation from God.

Healing comes by either one of two ways, by the sovereign move of God or by faith in His Word.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XXXII

10/24/2009 11:45 AM

Jesus instructed His disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the promise of the Father. He said they would receive power when the Holy Ghost had come upon them. They did as they were instructed, and when the day of Pentecost had fully come, the Holy Spirit, like fire, sat down on each one of them. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in unknown tongues as the Spirit, in their spirits, gave them utterance. Pentecost is the Greek term for the fiftieth day from the second day of Passover - the Jewish name is Shavuot, which means "weeks" which refers to the "Festival of Weeks." This day commemorates the day when God revealed the entire Torah (the five books of Moses) to Moses. To believers, Pentecost refers to the day when God gave again, but this time He gave His Holy Spirit.

Jesus tells us as believers that we will receive miracle working power after the Holy Ghost comes upon us. This power refers to the manifestations or gifts of the Holy Spirit. Paul spoke of these gifts of the Holy Spirit in 1 Cor. 12:7, "The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all." This means that each Spirit-filled believer would operate in these gifts, but only as the Spirit wills. Paul speaks of nine gifts which includes prophecy, tongues and interpretation of tongues. These three are the topic of our teaching on this week's broadcast.

Paul teaches that about prophecy, tongues and interpretation in 1 Cor. 14. Obviously the church in Corinth was in error as pertaining to the gifts of tongues. He refers to unknown tongues in two manifestations, as a type of prophecy and as praying in the Spirit. Speaking and praying in unknown tongues has also been a topic of discussion and division in the body of Christ for the last 100+ years. Let's take a Biblical look at God's plan for these manifestations of the Holy Spirit. If these were gifted to believers, then they must be important to Him and His Son.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XXVI

9/10/2009 10:30 AM

Blessings to you today,

Let's continue our study on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Before his final ascension into heaven Jesus appeared to His disciples and gave them final instructions. These men and women were believers. They believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, they believed that He was the messiah and they believed God had raised Him from the dead. They were believers. They were born again according to Romans 10: 9-10. They had been baptized in water and were the first church, the body of Christ, the body of the Messiah, the body of the anointing. Yet Jesus had one final instruction before He arose and disappeared into the clouds. "Wait for the promise of the Father which you have heard from me."

Think about what He said. Wait! Don't do anything in ministry until you receive the promise of the Father. John baptized with water but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. Wait in Jerusalem until you receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Then you will be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria and to the end of the earth.

When the day of Pentecost had fully come, the disciples were in one place and in one accord. Webster defines accord as "agreement, harmony of minds, consent or concurrence of opinions or wills." Then the Holy Spirit filled the house where they were sitting and appeared to them as fire. The Holy Spirit then sat upon each of them, they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to manifest His power. This continued and was the focus of the Book of Acts, which is the blueprint for the body of Christ - who we as believers are today.

Study the book of Acts of the Apostles. Ask God to show you His plan for your life. See yourself as the body of Christ and receive the Holy Spirit in the same way God gave the Holy Spirit to the early church, the body of believers.

In Him,

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XXIII

8/21/2009 11:00 AM

Hello believers,

Jesus told His disciples in the 14th chapter of John that if they believed on Him, the same works that He did they would do, and even greater works because He was going to the Father. He also said that He would pray and the Father would give them the Holy Spirit. He referred to the Holy Spirit as the promise of the Father. He told His disciples that they knew the Holy Spirit because they had been with Him, but that the Holy Spirit shall be in them. This would require another step of faith.

After His resurrection, Jesus told His disciples to wait on the promise of the Father in Jerusalem. He told them they would receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon them. They did and on the day of Pentecost they were all in one accord in the upper room and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. More importantly, they received power after the Holy Spirit came upon them.

They taught us to seek and receive the same. These promises were given to us as well, as members of the body of Christ.

This week we continue our study on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and particularly the gifts or manifestations of the Holy Spirit.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XVIII

7/25/2009 10:00 AM

Greetings Saints of God,

We are continuing our study this week on the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the direction given to us by our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit baptism as the promise of the Father (see Acts 1:4). We believe the Word of God is true, and if it is true, then what the Father promised, guaranteed by the blood of the lamb, we should endeavor to receive.

Jesus also said the Father would give the Holy Spirit to whomever may ask. He told His disciples that the Holy Spirit had been WITH them, but would in the future dwell IN them (John 14:17). Think about that, the Father desires and promises that the Holy Spirit ia available to dwell in the spirit and hearts of believers - that is in the heart of you and me. However, we need to ask in faith.

Receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not some spooky event, but a promise of the Father that He desires for us - a God ordained manifestation of the Kingdom of God.

We begin to study this week the gifts of the Spirit as described in I Corinthians 12, the power of God moving in us and through us in order that we may become the witnesses He wills us to be. We are encouraged to covet these gifts.

In Him,

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XIII

6/13/2009 8:45 AM

Greetings Saints of God,

We are continuing our study of the baptism of the Holy Spirit this week on the broadcast. Our foundation scriptures for this teaching are John 14:1-16 and Acts 1:1-8. Study these verses and look at what the Spirit of God is trying to tell us. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life. If we believe on Him, the works that he did, we would do if we believed. (Seems as though all of our walk with God depends upon us believing Him, believing His Word). He told us the Father would give the Holy Spirit to all that asked. He told the church, the early believers, the apostles, the body of Christ (which includes you and I) to wait for the promise of the Father. He said we would receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon us.

The Holy Spirit has been sent. He has been given to us. Receive the promise of the Father - the promise of the Spirit! He has created you to be a temple of the Holy Ghost!

In Him,

Baptism of the Holy Spirit Part XII

6/4/2009 12:15 PM

Greetings Saints of God,

We sometimes use the word "saints" to refer to believers who made a huge impact and mark on the world, like Saint Peter, Saint Paul, etc... but the word "saint" means one sanctified or set apart to God. The word saint comes from the Latin word "sanctus" where we get the word sanctify. "Saints" refers to the body of believers, the body of Christ. If we follow Christ, then we sanctify ourselves, set ourselves apart for the ministry He has called us to, wherever we are. We as believers are saints, set apart for His plan.

God has called us. He has personally delivered us from the authority of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. We must set ourselves apart for His plan and will for our lives. I don't mean we disappear and become like hermits, but we realize that He has a purpose for our life and we must set ourselves apart, make it our aim to follow Him and His directions.

He ministers to us by His Holy Spirit. He anoints us with His Holy Spirit. He fills us with His Holy Spirit.

He fills us with His Holy Spirit by faith. Galatians 3 tells us that "we might receive promise of the Spirit by faith." Know the word about the baptism of His Holy Spirit, ask in faith and be filled.

It is His will for your life.

In Him,
